We started playing with some different primary sizing for our headers a couple years ago and the results came back very positive. Increased midrange power & torque, improved spoolup, and no power losses except in the most radical of setups and even then the losses were negligible. We started offering our T3 manifolds in this new primary size immediately and their performance has exceeded expectations so far! With the semi recent introduction of V-Band turbine housings from TiAL Sport and Precision Turbo we thought it was time to start offering manifolds for them. Not only do these new housing perform as good, or better, than the best T3 housings they offer substantial weight savings, easier installation, no chance of seized mounting bolts, and gasketless installation.
I’m glad I stuck with the project because these new V-Band housings combined with the new turbo technology that’s available makes for performance that I once never thought possible. Here’s an example of a HTA3076 on EVO X compared to the stock turbo. Note this car is stock with the exception of an exhaust, our GT30 turbo kit, intercooler, injectors, and a tune. Stock cams, stock motor, etc… . Not going to beat this boost response and make that kind of power…
Here’s our 3 new Mitsu V-Band manifolds gathered in a circle. From left to right: EVO IV-IX, DSM, EVO X…
